Camp Willingness November Mid Term Camp 2026
Three days of thinking, creating, experimenting and problem solving.
Brain Boost is Camp Willingness' three day November Mid Term Camp designed to help children strengthen the thinking skills they use every day. Through age appropriate challenges, movement, practical activities, problem solving and hands on experiences, children will explore how they focus, remember, adapt, plan and work through challenges.

Two experiences
Children develop rapidly between the ages of four and twelve, which means the right challenge looks very different at different stages. That is why Brain Boost is not one identical programme delivered to every child. The November Camp has been designed as two developmentally appropriate experiences, allowing children to explore the same wider theme of thinking and problem solving through activities suited to their age and stage of development.
Ages 4 to 9
Children learn through purposeful play, movement, memory challenges, changing rules, creative activities and collaborative problem solving.
Ages 10 to 12
Older children take their thinking further through hands on experiments, investigations and practical challenges.
Why Brain Boost?
Children are regularly asked to listen, remember instructions, stay focused, adapt when plans change, solve problems and keep going when something does not work the first time. Brain Boost gives children the opportunity to actively practise these skills through engaging experiences rather than simply being told to concentrate or try harder.
Learning to notice what matters and stay engaged with a task.
Holding information in mind and remembering sequences, instructions and details.
Learning to adapt when a rule, idea or plan changes.
Practising how to pause, think and respond rather than rushing.
Thinking ahead, organising steps and working towards a goal.
Testing ideas, learning from results and finding another way forward.
Brain Boost | Ages 4 to 9
For children aged 4 to 9, Brain Boost turns important thinking skills into practical, playful experiences. Across three days, children will use movement, memory games, hands on activities, changing rule challenges and collaborative building tasks to practise focusing, remembering, pausing, adapting, planning and problem solving. The activities are fun and accessible, but every challenge has a purpose.
Progression: Day 1 focuses on focus and memory. Day 2 focuses on pausing and flexible thinking. Day 3 focuses on planning, building and problem solving.
Even within the ages 4 to 9 programme, children are not expected to work at exactly the same level. Activities are adapted according to developmental stage.
Ages 4 to 6
Shorter sequences, simpler choices, one rule at a time and more modelling and guidance.
Ages 7 to 9
More information, changing rules, greater independence in planning and more explanation of the strategies they use.
Everyone shares the Brain Boost experience, but the level of challenge and support grows with the child.
2 November 2026
Children begin by exploring how attention and memory work through practical memory stations, movement sequences and creative activities. They practise strategies such as looking carefully, slowing down, quietly repeating information and creating a mental picture.
Featured experiences: The Mystery Memory Lab; My Brain Boost Bottle Catcher.
3 November 2026
Children practise stopping an automatic response, remembering the current rule, making a choice and switching their approach when needed.
Featured experiences: Balloon Brain Stop & Switch; The Rule Changing Brain Rescue.
4 November 2026
Children bring their Brain Boost skills together through planning, creating, testing and improving.
Featured experiences: Sig's Dream House.
Brain Boost Lab | Ages 10 to 12
For children aged 10 to 12, Brain Boost becomes a hands on investigation lab. Children move beyond simply completing an experiment. They are encouraged to predict what may happen, plan carefully, observe evidence, compare results, question assumptions and improve their approach. Using familiar household ingredients, children discover that strong scientific thinking is not about knowing the answer immediately. It is about slowing down, testing ideas, noticing what actually happened and being willing to change your thinking when the evidence tells you something new.
2 November 2026
Children slow down, pay attention to detail and distinguish between what they expected and what they actually observed.
Experiments: Liquid Density Challenge; Milk Colour Movement.
3 November 2026
Children develop self control, fair testing and flexible thinking. They learn that useful investigations require patience, accurate measurement and changing one factor at a time.
Experiments: Yeast Balloon Investigation; Salt & Ice Investigation.
4 November 2026
Children plan, measure, test, collaborate and improve their original ideas using evidence.
Experiments: Fizz Formula Challenge; Rescue the Frozen Object.
What children take away
Brain Boost is designed so that the learning can extend beyond camp. The strategies children practise can support them when following instructions, completing schoolwork, solving problems, adapting when something changes, working with others or trying again after something does not go to plan.
